Your quintessential L1 rocket

Very pleased with this kit, which was successfully used for my L1 cert. My final weight with paint was about 41oz. I flew to 1,828ft on an Aerotech H219T. The one change I did make to this kit was my own custom fins, laser cut 1/8" ply and laminated using 4oz fiberglass. I really enjoyed building this and my purchases from LOC have shipped next day. Couldn't be more pleased!

Can’t get more basic than this. This was my Level 1 kit (jr), and I got it assembled in 2 hours, plus drying time. Very very easy to build. Highly recommend.

One tough rocket

I picked this rocket for L1. It was on its maiden flight the shock cord got singed and the body tube came down with no parachute from over 1,000 feet. I saw it hit the ground and bounced twice. I was sure it at least had a broken fin. When I got to the rocket it was fine!! The paint had cracked a bit but other than that is was ready to go again. I had packed with the cord getting behind the chute protector. Repaired the cord and launched it on on another day. All went well and was flawless. Thank you Loc Rockets for such great products.

Got my level 1 and 2 with this rocket

Instructions were vague, but the University of Youtube had build videos for it. I flew it on an H550 and a J270 for both level 1 and 2. This rocket can take a betting. My first level 2 flight, the motor exploded at 3 seconds in and around 4500 feet, causing the parachute to deploy early, ripping it to shreds and snapping the shock cord. I had a foam ball on the shock cord which is what saved my airframe from zippering. The rocket feel 4500 feet to the ground and the only damage was the parachute and shock cord. The MMT, airframe, fins, and booster section had zero damage as it hit the desert floor in western utah. replaced the cord, made sure to use an unfinished 9 knot (knotty 9) for parachute attachment and added my foam tape ball on the cord again. flew perfect
