Sturdy, versatile, stylish and fun rocket

The components of this kit are great. When assembled it's pretty apparent that it makes for a robust "model" rocket. If you assemble the motor mount to where the laminated centering rings sandwich the tabs of the fins, you've got a sturdy flier. Just for fun, you could fly a Jolly Logic altimeter 2 in the payload attached to the nosecone just to get your feet wet. We've flown ours with the Altimeter 2 and a C6-5. Super straight flight to 798 feet. I always loved the full size version of this rocket, and this small sized version is fantastic. We used CA to tack the fins on, and carpenter's glue for everything else. This is definitely one of our favorites

Great rocket!

This was a great 1" loc kit... until it got lost in the tallgrass. Yes the nosecone is yellow. You paint it.

What a fun build

I have been doing so many other mid-power rockets I wanted to try something else. I got this kit and just like all Loc Rockets top notch. I was impressed with the quality and simple straight forward assembly. I loved the design so I bout its big brother.

Disappointed

The main picture of the kit leads you to believe that it'll end up red. In actuality, if you look at the 2nd picture, this particular model is actually yellow and even then, the decals don't match the picture.

Other than that, I did like the plywood fins, the quality of nosecone (even though it was yellow), and the preslotted airframe.
