I earned my level 2 with the Warlock. Flew it on a K535 (flew like it was on rails). I did fiberglass this kit and added the RNWS, I have the perfect go to rocket that will take anything you shove in it!! Thank you, LOC for making such an awesome kit!! Want a bigger version of the Warlock!!!
I just earned my Level 2 Certification with a LOC Warlock. This is the perfect Level 2 cert bird. I flew mine this past weekend (2/3/24) on an Aerotech J275. The Warlock was draggy enough to keep the altitude low enough so it stayed in the recovery area. This also allowed me to keep it simple and use motor ejection and not have to worry about having more things that can go wrong. I highly recommend the Warlock for both L2 certification and general sport flying.
I was planning my Level 2 Cert this summer and searched for a kit that was suitable for the terrain at Richard Bong Recreation Area. This LOC kit is perfect for my primary need of being wide and fitting in my car (or others). Plus, the grandkids got a kick out of seeing Grandpa "big rocket". Oh, I christened it the "SpaceLOC1". Yes, it draws a lot of good attention carrying it up to RSO table. I launched my successful level 2 cert flight the day after an I powered shakedown flight the day before. . A+
Picked up my Warlock almost two years ago. After talking to numerous people about getting my level 1 Cert. I started asking the question of which rocket to buy and the answers I was getting were all the same. Get a LOC Warlock, Magg or Goblin. I picked up the 38mm Warlock about two years ago and built it between other smaller builds. Of course this was in the middle of Covid so flying for my Level 1 would need to wait. The assembly was straight forward and everything fit perfect right out of the box. This is just like any other rocket you've built just a whole lot bigger and cooler. Honestly, If you can build a Estes Executioner then you can build the Warlock.
I finally had the opportunity to fly for my level 1 and the flight was absolutely perfect. Thank you Jason and Dave for help selecting the motor and selling such a nice product.
This is the forth one of these kits I am building. Have built them for people and for myself it flys great on a small J and a big K if you want to go high.
This time around I am going to make this one duel deploy with a head end deploy
A small mod to the nosecone and a coupler and it will work great.
