Specification:

Diameter: 2.2 in. | Height: 46 in. | MMT: 29mm
Parachute: 24in. | Payload: None
Fin Array: 3 (Nike Style) | Fin Thickness: 0.06 in.

The CALLISTO is a great kit for Pre-Cert and Level 1 flights. This rocket stands 46 in. tall, is 2.2 in. diameter and has a 3 (Nike Style) fin design. This rocket comes standard with a 29mm motor mount and can fly on F thru I motors. At ~25 oz., the 24in. parachute is sized right for the stock kit to make a safe landing under most field conditions.

It is prudent to sim your kit/motor combination using the actual weight of your finished model to determine max velocity, altitude, ejection delay, etc. This will allow you to make an informed decision when selecting a suitable motor for your rocket. Please consult with a NAR or Tripoli certified member to ensure your flights are fun and safe.

Oldy but goody

I built my Callisto in 2003. It's quantum tubing, piston eject and 24" nylon chute with spill hole.
I'm sure I have north of 200 flights on this rocket. I snapped the quantum tube in half flying it on a 28° F day about 15 years ago, but a coupler and some epoxy and it was good as new. I now use a JLCR with it with the original chute and set it to open at 200 ft, 100 ft. if I want to mess with the LCO a little. I get 1200 ft on a G64W, 2000 ft on a H128W, and about 3000 ft on the H180W. I always use 0.5g of black powder in the ejection charge. It's the perfect amount with the piston.

A lotta bang for the buck, an excellent rocket!

The Callisto, along with her big sister Ariel, is one of my favorite rockets in my Loc/PML fleet (I have many!). The Callisto is a sleek dart, yet has a large enough diameter to fit in electronics such as altimeters and flight trackers. Callisto is capable of using a wide variety of budget friendly motors that will take it from 500-5000'. It's a great platform for learning the ins and outs of high power rocketry, from how to assemble reusable motors, to how to install electronics in a nosecone (see Loc's Intel-cone on this website). A fantastic performer that will deliver hours of fun!
