V2 4"
PK-57ND
Regular price $123.53The 4" LOC V2 Rocket Kit is one of the ADVANCED SERIES of kits, which include factory pre-slotted airframe and through-the-wall fin construction, The 3.9 V2 is our sport scale version of the infamous WWII German V2 rocket. This boat tail kit comes standard with a 38mm motor mount but flies great on F50 and G motors using an optional MMA-2 adapter. The 3.9 V2 is a great performer on a variety of motor packages through Level 1 - For Level 2 motors and large Level 1 motors change the launch lugs to rail guides to eliminate rod whip due to its short height and wide motor mount location. Nose weight will be required.

The kit is a very quality kit and nice components as with any other LOC kit.
Jay at LOC is so so wonderful. I've needed advice in places and he's been there everytime and very helpful. I only build LOC kits and will continue too. Thank you for being a wonderful company. Thanks for all you have done and do
I am painting my V2 now and wanted to add my $.02 worth. As I was installing the TTW fins in the boat tail, I realized that the slots were WAY off in spacing. The four fins are supposed to be 90 degrees apart. The slots on this kit were cut at 84, 90, 93, and 94 degrees. I had to recut one slot by another ⅜ inch to the side to get it close. The other one was ¼ inch. I already had one fin epoxied in when I discovered the error or I would have returned the boat tail for a different one. I guess that is why you should dry fit and check for square before beginning.
The rest of the kit is high quality and will still recommend LOC to everyone as a good kit.
The first thing I noticed is that the root edge of the LASER cut fins do not come close to mating with the boat tail contour, with gaps up to 3/32" in places. The root edge profile is cut in straight lines. I'll have to transfer the boat tail curve to the fins and trim them, which means the fin tab, where it mates to the MMT will probably have to be adjusted. I guess that's what makes it an advanced kit. I've got the skills, but didn't anticipate the extra noodling. The instructions are very brief and sparse and describe installing launch lugs instead of the supplied rail buttons, for which there are no instructions and I have no experience with. True scale is marginal, but true scale is not claimed. To get the length proportional to the BT diameter, the main airframe BT would be shortened by about 2.65 inches. I bought a different nose cone that's got a better point on it as the one supplied looked too blunt for my liking. I think it'll be a nice rocket when I get it finished.
Wonderful kits. Need help making it truly scale. Motor options ?
Difficult to adapt clusters, and VERY difficult to make this kit an accurate scale model. But I love it!! Could maybe have a detail extra plan missive.
