Description

The LOC Goblin is a new 4” diameter rocket kit. With permission to upscale a classic, the LOC Goblin is here and full of new features. The most notable is a Loc-n-Mount system allowing 54, 38, and 29mm motors. At 42 ounces it’s light enough to be a Class 1 flyer, and with the main 54mm it can easily attain high power flights. Decals are included as well as all necessary hardware and rail guides. Recovery is with a 36” Rip-stop nylon parachute and 15’ flat braided nylon shock cord with loops sewn in the ends. The booster section can be completely assembled and then slid into the airframe for maximum strength.  OR still use the traditional fin tabs and slots.

LOC Custom Series kits are designed to get away from the standard FTC (fin, tube, cone) rocket and may include a wide variety of building options. Using advanced techniques and bringing traditional modeling together, these kits will only go as far as your construction skills!

I bought a LOC 4″ Goblin as my first high power kit and I’m glad I did.

The instructions were easy to follow, and everything aligned perfectly.

The vinyl graphics are first rate and apply beautifully.

I built my Goblin with the fin-can built outside, then slid into the body tube (BT) after everything was solid with strong fillets. The entire assembly used TiteBond III (fin can assembly) and 15 minute epoxy to glue the fin can into the BT. I also used epoxy to lock the eye-bolt into position.

I covered my Goblin in Hangar 9 Ultracote (R/C airplane heat shrink covering) for a beautiful finish instead of painting. I also substituted in an Estes Mega Deer Red Max nosecone for the perfect look.

I’ve yet to fly it, but I know it’ll go straight and high!

Thanks LOC Precision for a beautiful upscale of this Estes classic!
