Quantum Leap 3000
PML`s "quantum mechanics" have continued to improve one of rocketry`s favorite two-stagers, the Quantum Leap.
The new Quantum Leap II, now with the new Interstate 3000 staging coupler system, is a completely modular two-stage rocket. Once you assemble the four basic components, you can combine them to make any of the five rocket combinations and can change to any configuration in minutes. The new Interstate 3000 system is much easier to prep and use than the previous interstate coupler design. The IS3000 comes complete with timer mounts and a remote safety switch.

Interstage Couplers are used to house staging timers and to connect the upper and lower stages together. The Interstage 3000, the latest version from PML, is used in our two-stage rocket kits. Using an IS3000 system from PML is a quick, simple solution to an often difficult design problem.

Below you will find a number of upgrade options. Upgrading the parachute size may be necessary if you intend to build heavy or have a hard landing surface (i.e. gravel, pavement, desert playa, etc.). Some motors will accelerate this rocket to transonic or even supersonic velocities. Under these conditions, this kit may require the fin upgrade, foam encapsulation of the fin root, as well as other advanced construction skills.
It is prudent to sim your kit/motor combination using the actual weight of your finished model to determine max velocity, altitude, ejection delay, etc. This will allow you to make an informed decision when selecting a suitable motor for your rocket.
